Customer Spotlight: Matthew Vanderboegh

When Matthew Vanderboegh wanted patches for the 244th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, he looked for a provider that could supply first-rate patches at a competitive price. The 1,700-person Army Reserve Unit is headquartered at Fort Knox, Kentucky, but its mission spreads from coast to coast. The unit provides missions to federal and state agencies across the country.

“I decided to make a patch of the units heraldic emblem.  It was in full color but had a background and border that better meshed with the combat uniforms,” he said. “The idea was that these would be used as morale patches, where they (troops) can slap them on a bag or hat as a non-official unit identifier.”

“They were a big hit and everyone wanted one,” Vanderboegh said. “Everyone that I showed it to though the patch was very well made, and were impressed with the per-unit price.”

“I was particularly impressed with the short amount of time that it took the company to come up with logo that could be translated to a patch, send it off to get made, and then have it delivered,” he said. “This was also a time were there was significant confusion as to overseas tariffs and shipping times.  I don’t think the entire process took more than a couple of weeks.”
