At TJM, we're big fans of not only Little League Baseball, but any form of youth league sports. This year marks 75 years since the first Little League team played their first game, and the organization has some great things in store to celebrate.

Founded by Carl Stotz in 1939, Little League has become not only an American institution, but an international one. Since the first teams took the field on June 6th, 1939, Little League has grown to include nearly 200,000 teams from all 50 states in the U.S. and over 80 countries internationally.

With divisions for boys and girls between the ages of 4 to 18, Little League offers something for everyone. Late in the season, each division holds a World Series, often receiving plenty of media attention. The 11-13 age division Little League World Series is televised nationally on ESPN, with millions of fans across the country tuning in to watch in August.

The 75th anniversary is an important milestone for everyone involved with Little League. Little League officials even created a special mosaic for the occasion, featuring photos submitted by players and coaches around the world. Leagues around the country are finding their own ways to celebrate the anniversary, with events culminating in August at the Little League World Series.
