The 2013 Little League World Series is almost complete! If you’ve been following our brackets (and it’s ok if you haven’t, we won’t think you’re THAT terrible a person), you’ll know only three games remain in the Series. All that remain are the United States and International championship games, and then the final game for the World Series title.

We’ve had plenty of great baseball over the past week. There have been close games that went into extra innings, and blow-outs that ended early. Some of the teams have even met for impromptu pick-up games in the morning, just for fun. And, as noted in the previous post, many of the players and fans alike have been heading to the pin trading area to meet other collectors and talk shop.

The only teams that remain undefeated are Chula Vista, California representing the West region in the United States bracket, and Tokyo, representing the Japan region in the International bracket. Japan is facing Mexico in the International bracket championship game, while the West team is playing against New England in the United States championship. Both games are on Saturday. The two winners will go on to face each other in the Little League World Series championship on Sunday. The two losing teams will play a consolation third place game before the Series final.

This year’s Series has certainly been an exciting one. With multiple teams/countries making their Series debut, it’s been a blast following the progress of everyone. While the only remaining first-timer is the Municipal De Tijuana team from Mexico, that doesn’t make the remainder of the Series any less exciting.

Our next post will be on Monday, after the Series is complete and a champion is crowned. We’ll cover the highlights of the final games, and listen out for any special stories from the Series. Follow along with our brackets as teams play the last few games!
