An adventurous customer takes our patches to the Grand Canyon!

Crystal Davis describes herself and her best friend as “Just some old ladies that like to go on adventures. My best friend since first grade (40 years ago) and I try to do yearly trips together.”

This year was a particularly special event for them, with a long-awaited trip to Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon. “We’ve been trying to obtain permits for the last 10 years,” Davis said.

Because the falls lies within Havasupai Native American land, the tribe limits tourism to preserve the natural environment. Permits for the year go on sale in February and sell out within hours.

Davis wanted a special souvenir to mark the occasion.

“Since this was a big trip, I wanted to get a patch for my hiking pack. I could not find a decent patch so I contacted www.patches4less.com.”

She wasn’t kidding about it being a big trip, in more ways than one. Havasu Falls is a 10-mile hike into the canyon from the trailhead. It’s a rugged, no-frills adventure. So Davis wanted a very special patch to commemorate it.

Our talented graphic artists delivered for her.

“I gave them a picture of the Havasu waterfall and the wording I wanted on it.  They were able to come up with a design in a few short hours.”

She was impressed enough to increase the original size of her order.

“The design was so amazing that I actually ordered a lot of them, so I could hand them out to other hikers,” she said. “Everyone loved them. There are other patches out there, but none with the year on them.”

She praised our customer service as well.

“From the quick responses to receiving the patches at lightning speed, I was quite impressed with the service,” Davis said. “I honestly, had not expected to get them in time, since it was a last minute idea.”

She described herself as “a Happy Customer.”

“I would 100% use Patches4Less again on our next adventure,” she said. “Next big hike is Camino Frances in 2028 for our 50th birthdays. (We did it for our 40th too.)”

That one’s an even bigger adventure – it’s a 480-mile (772-kilometer) trek from southern France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, believed to be the burial place of St. James.

Thank you, Crystal for your business and we appreciate your vote of confidence. Happy hiking, and we look forward to providing those Camino Frances patches too!
